Tyrone Hack is studying towards a Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Laws conjoint degree, specialising in Māori Studies.
"I chose to study law as I saw it as a positive way to better myself, and work to support my family, my iwi and the nation as a whole.
"For me, the best thing about The University of Auckland is the support from the Māori student organisations at the University. In Ngā Tauira Māori and Te Rakau Ture I've been able to feel at home in an environment which might otherwise seem quite foreign. The associations provide support groups which continue to be my constant source of strength and encouragement when study gets hard, and provide an outlet when it's time to kick back or party."
